Karier
Ayahnya adalah seorang sutradara teater bernama Tetsuya Oguri, sedangkan ibunya seorang guru balet. Sewaktu masih kelas 6 SD, Shun bergabung dengan kelompok teater anak-anak karena sangat mengagumi aktris Yuki Uchida, dan berangan-angan untuk bisa tampil dengannya. Sejak masih kanak-kanak, Shun sudah memulai karier akting dengan menjadi figuran.Karier aktingnya menyebabkan Shun sering sekali tidak masuk sekolah. Pada waktu itu Shun masih duduk di kelas 3 SMP semester II. Di sekolah, Shun dimusuhi teman-temannya dan sering dijahili. Perlakuan dari teman-temannya di sekolah dilaporkan kepada sang ayah yang lalu mengusulkan agar Shun tidak usah lagi pergi ke sekolah. Shun bahkan tidak menghadiri upacara lulus SMP. Dalam serial drama GTO, Shun bermain sebagai Yoshikawa Noboru, seorang murid sekolah yang sering diusili teman-temannya. Kesibukan dunia panggung juga menyebabkan Shun berhenti sekolah ketika masih SMA.
Kakaknya bernama Ryō Oguri yang juga seorang aktor. Mereka berdua pernah tampil sebagai pengisi suara dalam film anime Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa, dan dalam drama Shakespeare berjudul The Comedy of Errors.
